In 2024, Tom Barrett, a 22-year Army veteran, flipped Michigan’s Seventh District from blue to red in one of the most expensive races of the cycle. The fight for MI-7 will be no less intense in 2026. This is the third consecutive cycle the RJC has backed Tom Barrett – now for the first time as an incumbent.
In his freshman term, Congressman Barrett has emerged as a strong ally to the Jewish community, urging continued support for Israel and wider adoption of the IHRA definition of antisemitism in the Wolverine State, most recently urging the President of Michigan State University to adopt the IHRA working definition of antisemitism.
